OBJECTIVE:
We were contacted by a hospital system to discuss, design, and install a replacement environmental monitoring solution to replace their current end-of-life solution.
Primary Issue to Resolve
To determine equipment upgrade/replacement vs reconfiguration - This hospital has numerous technology closets that require constant temperature and moisture monitoring to allow the key pieces of their technology infrastructure to operate properly. They also needed to know who is coming and going from each closet as doors are sometimes left ajar, which affects both temperature and humidity. They have a solution in place, which is quickly coming to the end of its' life cycle.
SOLUTION - One of the many things Vision Concept Technology is, is nimble. We often "think outside the box" with solution options for our clients and are not tied to a single provider to solve technology challenges. To explore all options for our client, we "interviewed" several solution providers for the technology challenge and narrowed the potential down to three. We then engaged our client to provide them with feedback about each solution and asked them to engage with us to pick the best possible choice. Once the choice was made, we enlisted the selected provider to put together a replacement solution for temperature, humidity, and door video. We installed the new solution side by side with the current solution to test performance and to make sure the client was happy with the solution.
Results
The replacement solution was installed by our team and will be overseen by the technology manager of the hospital. Results are expected to be stellar. It will operate as designed and provide the technology team with timely information to manage the temperature, humidity, and door contacts in the main data center. Once this solution is evaluated in real time, the hospital plans to partner with us to roll it out to their other fifteen data closets in the coming year. We listened to the need, provided options for the best possible solution, engaged the client, and then installed the chosen best fit. One solution does not fit all, and our nimbleness will continue to provide this client with a quality solution that is not only forward-thinking, but expandable to other locations.
