Primary Issues to Resolve

• Customer wanted VCT to provide a secure facility for their borders.

  SOLUTION - Vision was able to leverage their CLEC services to bring fiber optic to the location. The fiber build was several miles of "right of way" work, in addition to extensive trenching and conduit work to connect multiple buildings at the customer location. Although the customer did not believe this would be in the budget, they understood that without a quality foundation they would not be able to use and provide the service they had in mind.

• Know who is onsite and when.

  SOLUTION - VCT moved away from intrusion detection due to the inability to physically secure the barns. These structures are left open most of the time for the health and wellness of the animal. They are only closed due to inclement weather, and never locked in the event of a fire. It was impossible to install intrusion detection in this environment. Instead we installed access control and video surveillance. We put access control on the tack room door and the grain room door. This way we secure expensive equipment and medicine as well as have an audit trail for access. Video surveillance through out the facility including LPR (License Plate Recognition) with alerting on the entrance, panoramic cameras in the riding arena and boarding barn. Even a few individual cameras in the horse stalls so the owners of the horses could see their individual hose from home.

• Discourage theft, bad actors or access after-hours.

  SOLUTION - Customer was very impressed with our solution and our ability to understand their needs. So much that they asked us to consult with them and the other trades and assist with additional technology and automation.
